OVERVIEW:

Birth of a Legend

LAMBORGHINI'S RISE, FALL, AND VINEYARD LEGACY

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., founded on May 7, 1963, exceeded Ferruccio's expectations, making Lamborghini a formidable name in the sports car world. By the late 1960s, the company employed approximately 4500 people. However, economic challenges, the oil embargo, and a global recession forced Ferruccio to sell 51 percent of Automobili Lamborghini in 1972. Just two years later, he parted with his remaining shares and left the factory.

Ferruccio's post-automotive venture led him to the La Fiorita estate by Lake Trasimeno in Umbria. In 1975, he entered the wine industry, producing "Sangue di Miura" ("Blood of the Bull") with enological supervision. Embracing a renewed spirit, Ferruccio also constructed a hydraulically powered golf course and a car museum. His enduring love for the Miura model persisted until his passing on February 20, 1993, at the age of 77.

LEGACY LIVES ON

His daughter, Patrizia, takes over in the mid-'90s, continuing the pursuit of quality wines. Under Patrizia's stewardship, the estate's vineyards flourish, focusing on Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grechetto. Extensive replanting and meticulous winemaking, supervised by Riccardo Cotarella, yield high-standard modern wines, showcasing a commitment to quality and the terroir.Lamborghini's legacy endures in every bottle crafted with precision and passion.
